CORRECTION: September’s union meeting will be held September 17, 2014 at the Teamsters Hall, Local 299, 3700 Ann Arbor Rd. Jackson, MI. 49202, at 7:30 pm

Our October union meeting will be on October 15, 2014, 7:30pm, at the American Legion Post 54, 1125 E. Columbia, Battle Creek, MI. 49014, at 7:30pm

The membership body voted on May 28, 2014 for the allocations of the raise effective June 1, 2014. The membership approved to reinstate Class Level 2 & Level 3 dental benefits. These benefits will go into effect approximately August 1, 2014. We will confirm the August 1 projected date. If you choose to have dental procedures done before this date, there is no insurance and the cost will be at your expense.

The Lansing Training Center is open daily from 7am to 4pm for anyone interested in coming in during the day to practice welding. Members can also utilize the Jackson Hall on a daily basis. Contact Terry or Joni. (517) 784-1106

Sign up will be at the time of the class. Please have your plumbing license number at the time of signing up also.

Classes will start at 5pm.

Weld classes will resume August 25. Please sign up at your respective hall.

You will have to register if you’ve never used it before but once you do, you will have access to all kinds of great information including all your EOB’s. The website information has been expanding like crazy over the past year and keeps getting better. Be sure to take advantage of taking your health risk appraisal – you will get all kind of great feedback. Your initial log in will require BC/BS to send you a PIN number. Once you have that, you’re ready to access your information.

We would like to give a very special congratulation to Foye Pierce IIII. He is the son of our member Foye Pierce III. Foye Pierce IIII was diagnosed with brain cancer. He recently went to his doctor and was told he is cancer free. The Pierce family would like to say thank you to their union family for the prayers and support that you have given them.

Get well wished to Dale Kennedy who injured his hip. We wish you a very speedy recovery Dale.

Congratulations to Mark Grennell and Darcy Austin on their wedding day. The couple exchanged their vows at home on July 26, 2014. We wish you many, many years of happiness.
