July’s union meeting will be held on July 15, 2015 at the Lansing Hall, 5405 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Lansing, MI. 48911 at 7:30pm.

Local 333 Golf Outing will be held August 1, 2015 at the Eldorado Golf Course 3750 W. Howell Rd. Mason, MI. 48854. Shotgun starts at 9am (Scramble Format). $75 per person/ $300 per foursome. This includes 18 holes of golf, cart, chicken and steak dinner, (lunch at the turn) and lots of prizes for everyone. Registration forms are at the Lansing hall, all teams and individual golfers must have their forms at the Lansing hall no later than July 1, 2015.

Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 333 Scholarship Applications for the 2015-2016 school year are now available. Members may pick up applications at all three union halls or by calling Joni at 517-784-1106. Please keep in mind that completed applications must be in the Jackson office by June 30, 2015.

Lansing’s Adopt-A-Highway will take place July 11, 2015 at 8am. Members will meet at the JATC located at 16180 National Parkway, Lansing, MI. 48906. If you have any questions please contact, Nick Rodgers (517) 927-7914.

Get well wishes the Lidia Heiden wife of Hermann Heiden, and mother of Jerry Heiden. We are wishing you a very speedy recovery.

Congratulations to Josh and Erika Whitaker on the birth of their lovely little girl Stella Wilhelmine Whitaker who was born April 15, 2015.

Congratulations to Lansing member Richard D. Young who won 1st place in his age group at the Hawk Island Spring Triathlon that was held May 30, 2015. The triathlon included a 500m swim, 16k bike, and a 5k run. Rich placed 16 overall with over 500 individuals in the competition.

Congratulation to Geoffrey Mowry and our amazing Local 333 members that volunteered their time and energy to help make the BWL Chili Cook-Off a success. We recieved 1st place for the People’s Choice award. There were 40 entries for the chili cook-off, with over 8000 in attendance. Our members made twenty, five gallon pots of chili, with the beef chili being the best. All proceeds will go to the following charities: Sparrow Foundation, Hope Scholarship program, Impression 5 Museum, Adopt-A-River program and the Wounded Warrior project.

Local 333 would like to give a very special thank-you to the members who participated in the chili cook-off. Our Master Chefs: Chris Mouton, Steve Torok, Doug Bowerman, Bryan Leek, and Geoffrey Mowry. Thank you to Beth Youngs and her sons Grant and Glenn for setting-up the booth and decorating. We would like to extend our thank-you to all the members, their wives, and family members who helped served the chili; Doug Bowerman, Bryan and Linda Leek, Beth Youngs, her son Glenn, Rich and Brenda Young, Ron Arnett his girlfriend Cindy, Dustin and Jamie Howard, and Jeremy Garza.
