Once again the BWL Chili Cook-Off was a great success, with one of the biggest crowds in several years.  Local 333 was able to snag several awards, Jeff Mowry and his team received 2nd Place in the People’s Choice Award, and 1st Place for the most creative booth that was designed by Trent Mauk and the apprentices.  With over 25 vendors, including restaurants, and thousands of voters this was a great honor, and Local 333 was able to connect with thousands of local residents and show that we care about our community.

We would like to thank our members and their wives for without them none of this would have been possible: Chris Mouton, Steve Torok, Ken Breneiser, Bryan Leek, Trent Mauk and his wife Betsy, Beth Youngs, and her son Grant, Chad Reis and his wife Freddie Jo, Dustin and Jamie Howard, Don and Meagan Kelley, Sam and Nancy Capps, Mike Cousino and Jeremy Garza.  It’s worth noting that it takes over 100 man hours to prepare, set up, and serve the chili.  Thanks to them we can chalk this up to another successful event.

Keep in mind that this is a charitable event, with the proceeds going to local charities and nonprofit organizations, including, the HOPE Scholarship program, Impression 5 Science Center, Adopt-A-Highway and the Sparrow Foundation.

Please be watchful for our children crossing the roads that will be trick or treating this Halloween.
