September’s union meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Battle Creek, American Legion Post 54, 1125 E. Columbia, Battle Creek, MI. 49014 at 7:30pm.

October’s union meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 will be in Jackson. 7:30pm, at the Teamsters Hall, Local 164, 3700 Ann Arbor Rd. Jackson, MI. 49202, at 7:30 pm. Directions to the hall: South on US127 toward Jackson, Exit 43A, take ramp right for I-94 East/US-127 South toward Detroit. At exit 142 take ramp right for US-127 South towards Hudson. At exit 39, take ramp right and follow signs for I-94-BL. Turn left onto I-94BLVD/Ann Arbor Rd/E Michigan Ave.

Spaces are available for weld class. These classes are ongoing and booths are available. Please call your respective hall to sign up for the class.

Attention Members: It is your responsibility to maintain your drug test. If it has expired you may be ineligible to work in or out of state. If you have any questions regarding your drug test, please contact the Lansing Hall. (517) 393-5480

Med-gas classes will start September 29th from 5-8 if we can get at least 5 guys signed up




We will have an OSHA 10 class September 28th from 7am to 5pm at the LTC. Please let us know if you are interested so we have enough materials for the class.


Also, for any journeyman that has let their plumbing license laps, we will be having a plumbing test prep class. This will be held September 21st and 22nd. 2 days prior to the state test.

 Retirement: Congratulations to Dave Kempter who retired September 1, 2015. May you enjoy a long and wonderful retirement.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jackson member Frank Jamieson. Frank passed away September 9, 2015 at the age of 86. He was initiated into the local in 1950 and retired October 1991. Our thought and prayer are with Frank’s family during this sorrowful time.

Deepest sympathies to John Hanshew, his sister Carolyn (Kenny) Behl, on the loss of their mother Dorothy Hanshew who passed away September 8 2015. Our heart goes out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
